So 2021 was a vast improvement over 2020 inasmuch as there were public safe events that I could attend and demonstrate my dandy fashion art. Was 2021 ideal? Absolutely not, but at least we have vaccines and booster shots now, so, please, get vaccinated!

I went to an outdoor fancy birthday party at the Dupont Circle Fountain. I did a photo shoot in Logan Circle. I got to go to The Wig Party DC. I went to PTown Carnival for the first time since 2015. I went to Teslacon. I went to an actual old-fashioned Harlem style Sinners and Saints Ball: Red, White and You. And I served lewks, and I got to serve them with a safely vetted audience.

It's been a crazy year, no lie. Was it optimal? Absolutely not. Was it better (for me) than 2020? Absolutely. I was able to get my message out about diversity and inclusivity, which is a society-wide and personal-wide message, including your friends and beyond. I use my dandyism to highlight, and illustrate, the importance of caring about others and including others, which includes the importance of getting vaccinated and wearing a face mask whenever and wherever necessary (examples of which can be found here).

I was interviewed in the Summer 2021 issue of Soft Magazine, a queer quarterly publication. I was nominated for the Fine Wine category for DC Beings Awards 2021. Laganja Estranja loved my gender-bending Dandy Dorothy look from Carnival!

So let's see what 2022 will bring, which I hope will include more opportunities for us creatives to show off our art in safe public spaces, for more people to practice diversity, inclusivity, and all-around kindness, and for everyone to get seriously vaccinated until COVID-19 is finally controlled and/or eradicated from our collective experience.

And I find a boyfriend..
