When it comes to my latest hero, Lil Nas X, I couldn't possibly come up with enough accolades for this queer icon of color, of fashion, of expression, of individuality, of fierceness. His video, "Old Town Road", inspired
this lewk. His boldness and sense of identity has inspired us all, all except for those who are intimidated by individuality and free expression of that individuality, and when it comes to Dandyism and the importance of acceptance of free expression within the framework of diversity and inclusivity, I already talked about it here.
Let's talk briefly about Montero (Call Me By Your Name). This is an unashamed love letter to Absolute Queerness in style, form, sensuality, and, above all, identity.
This is how our part of our world should be, and this is how the rest of the world should accept how our world should be. This inspires this older gay queer dandy of color to go ever brighter and bolder with style and substance, in the written word and in the outfit.
Nas, you did that thang!
Remember that Dandyism is also in the family of Camp, and because of that, it has its nice queer roots (thank you, Oscar Wilde to Francis Bourgeois to Billy Porter to.. Nas)
